About ENGISHON
ENGISHON MICROFINANCE LIMITED (Engishon) is a social enterprise with a mission to deepen and expand access to financial services in the marginalized pastoralist communities of northern Tanzania. The company was initially registered in Tanzania in 2016 as PWC-ENGISHON FUND LIMITED, and its mandate was to provide flexible, affordable business credit to women groups comprising the membership of Pastoral Women’s Council (PWC), the parent organization. In 2020, the company resolved to extend services to all pastoralists while maintaining a strong bias toward women and youth. In the same year, the company was re-registered as ENGISHON MICROFINANCE LIMITED.
ENGISHON operates under the Microfinance Act (Cap 407) of 2018 and complies with the regulations of the Bank of Tanzania.
