To help pastoralist women earn income by engaging them in activities based on the use of local resources such as food, water or livestock. To provide access to water, sanitation and hygiene services in the rural areas of Tanzania. This will improve the health of beneficiaries as well as the general community. We will help new mothers in our community with children’s nutrition by providing multiple income-generating activities.
Microfinance institutions, especially in rural areas, should be able to reach out to pastoralist women. These institutions can use micro-credit as a tool for economic growth and development of the pastoralist women. Micro-credit is an opportunity for women who have no access to financial services due to lack of collateral or high risk associated with their livelihood activities. This is because pastoralist women are already participating in income generating activities such as cattle keeping and selling milk products which provide them with some cash flow but at the same time exposes them to market risks from fluctuating prices or other factors beyond their control such as weather conditions, diseases and drought etc., In order for pastoralist women’s businesses to thrive; it is important that they understand how microfinance works so that they can take advantage of these services provided by different agencies like English Micro finance Tanzania(EMT). The beauty about this type of financing scheme offered by EMT is that one does not need any collateral before applying for a loan. This will enable those who fail because they cannot provide security deposits required by conventional banks where credit officers make decisions based on the value of land owned by farmers before granting loans
Pastoralist women are engaged in various income-generating activities using natural resources and local assets such as food and water to create wealth. Empowerment is at the heart of our organization, we strive to empower women who have been marginalized by society because of their pastoralist status, lack of an education or financial capability. This is done through providing them with skills, training opportunities as well as giving them access to equipment that would enable them have businesses where they can earn money from selling their products and services to other people within their community.
